International Languages Day

P3/2 had lots of fun recognising International Languages Day.  We focused on Spanish and completed many active mathematics activities using Spanish numbers.  We wrote a letter to our Spanish pen friend 'Diego' and told him what our life was like here in Scotland.  Finally we completed an art activity inspired by Gaudi's mosaic work.

Play is a major feature in our learning and it is something we all love to take part in.  We get to visit a range of different stations where we get to experiment, explore and use different materials.  At the moment we are focusing on MEASURING.

We have been measuring and comparing our heights, width of our feet and objects around our school to name a few.  We use different things to measure.  Some of these include buttons, unit cubes, rulers, metre sticks, water containers, scales and string.

We have had problems to solve.  How can we measure our head?  Can we find water containers that hold more or less than a litre? Can we find 2 objects that weigh the same?

But most of all we have been having FUN!
